Rockport's cultural district is made up of a diverse group of partners that include art galleries, artistic and performance venues, historic associations, museums, churches, libraries, and retailers. Its mission is to celebrate, preserve, and promote Rockport's artistic and cultural assets, and to help harness these assets as an economic engine for the town. The District's compact boundaries make it easy to walk, encompassing 1.2 miles of downtown Rockport. It includes 150 businesses, galleries, churches, and cultural venues. -Photos and text by Paul St. Germain 20 Cape Ann Guide 2012 ~ Essex, Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Rockport + + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + +++++++++++++++++++ + + + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + +++++++++++++++++++ + + + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + ++++++++++++++++++++++ + ++ + + ++ + +++++++++++++++++++ +
