North Shore Arts Association (978) 283-1857 11 Pirate's Lane, East Gloucester North Shore Arts Association, established in 1922, occupies one of the most beautifully unique and inspiring settings in New England. With its historic harbor-side galleries, visitors from all over the globe are provided the opportunity to view one of the largest and most diverse collections of fne art on Cape Ann. NSAA has a thriving membership of over 600 Artist and Associate Members working in a variety of media and styles. In the interest of community involvement, in addition to nationally recognized exhibitions, NSAA also offers demonstrations, workshops, lectures, critiques, flm presentations, concerts and the Gala Annual Live Auction of Fine Art to be held this year on August 20th. North Shore Music Theater (978) 232-7200 62 Dunham Road, North Beverly Since 1955, North Shore Music Theater (NSMT) has become one of the most attended theaters in New England, with approximately 250,000 patrons annually. With a national and regional reputation for artistic achievement, NSMT has received numerous industry awards including Elliot Norton Awards, IRNE Awards, the Rosetta Le Noire Award from Actors' Equity and the Moss Hart Award. Under new ownership since 2010, NSMT continues to produce a musical subscription series and A Christmas Carol annually, along with celebrity concerts and children's programming. The Paper House (978) 546-2629 52 Pigeon Hill Street, Rockport The Paper House is a unique structure once used as the summer home of its builder, Elis Stenman. Its uniqueness comes from the newspaper used in the making of the walls and the furniture. An estimated 100,000 papers were used over a twenty year period. The furniture is sturdy; it was used at one time but is strictly for display at present. This is one of those things that has to be seen to be believed. Located on a quiet street in the Pigeon Cove section of Rockport, it may be a bit hard to fnd but worth the trip just for the adventure. Open from the frst weekend in April through the last weekend in October. Rockport Art Association & Museum (978) 546-6604 12 Main Street, Rockport Founded in 1921, and located in the heart of Rockport's Cultural District, the Rockport Art Association & Museum has served as the cultural center for the town for more than 90 years. It is also one of the earliest and most active art groups in America. The Association offers continuing art classes and workshops for children and adults, as well as lectures, demonstrations and other educational programs. With over 25 exhibitions of fne art throughout the year, the Association represents many of the fnest regional artists in New England. The Association also owns and displays an extensive museum collection of works of art by historic Cape Ann artists. Admission is free to browse the multiple galleries and interior courtyard. Rockport Music Shalin Liu Performance Center (978) 546-7391 37 Main Street, Rockport Rockport Music's home, the Shalin Liu Performance Center, is a cherished addition to the cultural life of Cape Ann. This intimate, oceanfront concert hall boasts 330 seats and magnifcent views of the Atlantic Ocean.
