October 15, 2016 Rockport HarvestFest Downtown Rockport The annual Rockport HarvestFest runs from 10am to 5pm. New England food producers gather under a giant tent on one of Rockport's historic working wharves to celebrate the best of local food with fresh seafood, pastries, cider doughnuts, chowder, small-batch jams, soups and much more. A selection of local craft beers and wine, as well as soda from Rockport's own Twin Lights Soda Company are on hand. Cooking demos, cookbook authors, the Rockport Farmers' Market and plenty of live bluegrass, jazz, folk and celtic music are all part of the festival. Rockport's business and cultural community offers HarvestFest events and in-store specials in conjunction with this quintessential New England harvest celebration. October 15 – 16, 2016 Gran Prix of Gloucester Stage Fort Park, Gloucester Take a dramatic harborfront park at the height of fall foliage season. Set up a twisting grass, dirt and asphalt racecourse with challenging obstacles. Unleash a crowd of world class cyclists to charge through the sharp curves and jump the barriers. Add screaming, cowbell ringing fans incited by dynamic announcers. What do you have? One of the premier bicycle races in the country, right here in Gloucester. The Gran Prix of Gloucester is two days of international caliber races where competitors from all over the U.S., Canada and Europe converge to race on the most beautiful course in North America. October 22, 2016 Essex Clamfest Shepard Memorial Park, Essex The 34th Annual Essex ClamFest will be held from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in Shepard Memorial Park in Essex. The highlight of the day will be the Clam Chowder Tasting, a competition that pits area restaurants against one another to determine who serves the best chowder on Cape Ann! In addition to the chowder competition, an interesting variety of activities, including an arts and crafts area, entertainment throughout the afternoon, and plenty of food vendors are on-site to round out the day. The crafts and food areas are open to the public starting at 11:00 am.
